KEF has decided to spice up the HTIB(home theater in a box) world by announcing the new KEF KHT2005.3 HTIB system.
This is a 5.1 channel offering with some very sleek aesthetics that include 4 satellite speakers, a center channel, a subwoofer, and a 200W amp.
The KHT2005.3 is the third incarnation of the Home Theater 2000 series of surround sound speakers, and this offering make use of some significant product developments from KEF.
The subwoofer is the new KUBE-2 which utilizes some pretty respectable Uni-Q drivers and is fashioned after a–you guessed it– cube.
KEF provides some extra power on the bass side of things with a 200W Class D amplifier and the use of a 10” driver and a 10” Auxilliary Bass Radiator in the subwoofer.
While many HTIB systems are of rather dubious quality, it does look like KEF has put together a pretty decent offering relative to the other HTIB systems around.
The KHT2005.3 is available now for $1,299.
